Personalizing your plates

A number plate is more than just something that sets your car apart. Every owner of a vehicle loves his or her car, SUV, truck or bike. If they didn't, they wouldn't drive around in it or even own it. And when you love something that you spend a lot of your waking hours with (driving from/to work, school, errands, vacations), you can be forgiven for personalizing it somewhat. And that's exactly what Plate Creator does!

But obviously your personalized number plate can't just be any combination of "stuff" that you wish. However, when handled by an experienced and professional outfit, who have been in the business for a while, you can pretty much use your imagination to get the plate you desire. That's because the professionals know what is and isn't allowed by Britain's Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA). If you try to personalize your plates in ways that do not meet DVLA standards, you will likely be advised against it.

Fortunately, while DVLA legal style standards are pretty strict, there is a lot of flexibility in coming up with some personalized plates for your cars, bikes or other vehicles. You can choose to go with the Current style plate, so called because that's what the DVLA currently allots to new vehicles.  This style is based on a format that has 2 alphabets, then 2 numbers (which tell how old the vehicle is), and 3 letters to end the plate.

You can also personalize your number plates using other DVLA registration styles, like Prefix, that consists of 1 alphabet for the vehicle's age, followed by 1, 2 or 3 numbers, and 3 alphabets at the end. Or you could opt for the Suffix style, consisting of 3 alphabets, then 1, 2 or 3 numbers, and 1 alphabet to indicate the age of the vehicle. And of course, there's the Dateless number plate that can contain a maximum of 4 numbers followed by up to 3 alphabets, three letters, or vice versa. These plates cannot exceed 6 characters.

But you can also design your very own personalized show plates for your Commercial Vehicles, Disability Vehicles, and Agricultural Vehicles if you wish. Doing so will free you from some of the more restrictive formats. For instance, you'll have the ability to opt from a wide choice of legal fonts, plate backgrounds, and side badges for plate to make its design something that's truly unique to your vehicle.

And the best way to design your personalized number plate is by using online plate customization tools, like those available at the Plate Creator website. Tools like these make the creative process easy and simple. You can quickly design a custom plate of your choosing, and then preview it on your screen. It appears just as it will ultimately be built for you, using the size, background, border, badges and bottom text you selected.

All you have to then do is order the plate and wait for it to arrive. Delivery is FREE!
